CULTURAL INTEREST
Cyber enhancements are essential in Atropia and our language is dependent on the model or version of enhancements you have. Enhancements are stepping stones to development in diversity, vocabulary and comprehension. We don't have a concept on age due to the fact that our enhancements keep our population young and healthy. Our enhancements allow us to communicate either directly or indirectly, with the latter due to us being connected by a signal chip that is installed earlier in life. Our diet promotes health and humane treatment for animals. We do not over hunt, over fish, or over harvest we use our enhancements to calculate how our actions are effecting our environment. Our cities are solar powered and refuses to be chained to the need for fossil fuels and other non renewable forms of energy. We do all this based on one important word in our society. Ieod, which means one since we are all one.

A normal day in Atropia will start at midday, since we are fitted with enhancements that can improve vision at darker times of the day. This allows for more sleep and time with family. It is a simple procedure and it is done seamlessly and harmlessly while someone is in their residence. Mone and Wones do not start families until after they have finished their time in the Atropian Defense Force or the Raeo. This is to avoid the conflict of splitting families and keeping families as one.

Our
Society is run by council of 13 elected officials who have been through
the Theon u Ieod which stands for the Trial of One. It's a year long
trial that is held in secret and only available to those who have proven
themselves in a field that is vital to our survival and proved that
they are the strongest of our people. At any one time here must be a
Male, a female, an elder, and Chief. The chief is the strongest, wisest,
and has proven themselves as a honor graduate of the Theon u Ieod and
has served with honor in the Atropia Defense Force with distinction.
Most of our population resides in cities and neighboring towns. Our
culture relies on technology therefore rural environments are rarely
inhabited in order to prevent damaging the environment and preserving
the planet, and those who do live there are usually people with little
or no enhancements.Upon birth, young-lings are kept at home for a year
before starting social development for 4 years with other young-lings
that are within their district. After social development, the
young-lings are given the title of yearlings. At this time they receive
their first enhancement which allows them to learn advanced theories,
solve complex equations and speak on a wide range of topics. Yearlings
remain in a self-development and improvement course that will hone their
physical and mental limits for 15 years, when they gain the title of
Mone (Adult Male) and Wone (Adult Female). At this point they are
required to serve at least 4 years in the Atropia Defense Force or their
local Raeo (Police force) for 6 Years. Atropia is a embraces diversity
and welcome people from all over the globe. However, we are very wary of
overpopulation and will send a small group of select people on missions
across the globe to help other culture develop systems and give them
the ability to mold it and integrate that into their preexisting
culture.

Family, and Technology are the cogs that keep our people together and
without them there would be no way we could maintain our Atropian way of
life. With a high emphasis on technology and education our people are
able to do everything at an advanced level and it allows both
development and improvements in key sectors of our society. So as time
passes, we can keep our society growing and always getting better to
further protect, teach, and serve future generations. This gives the
future generations a chance to improve and expand on everything we
cherish and keep our highly sophisticated cities running.

Atropia
is known for its caring nature and recognizes that unity is everything
so we see all people as one and only hope to help all nations and most
forms of help are through education or through humanitarian aid. Since
we a secular society we give everyone the right to practice any religion
as long as it doesn't conflict with the Atropian values. It has a
military but only vows to use it for defense as stated the name Atropia
Defense Front. Only small detachments are sent overseas and they are
only used only to help with humanitarian aid and peacekeeping missions.

CLASSIFICATION OF REALITY
There are 3 distinct levels of enhancements that are used across all people in our society and each is used to expand knowledge, reaction speed, and situational awareness through a virtual heads up display placed seamlessly in your environment. The first is the Pawn V1, which is given to young-lings as there first enhancement, and allows for moderate upgrade support. The next is the Rook V2, which is given to yearlings 10 years into self-development. This allows yearling to build significantly upon previously learned knowledge. The final upgrade is the Queen X, which give post self development Atropians peak physical and mental strength and the ability handle most normally difficult task with ease.
ENVIRONMENT
65 percent of Atropia is dense urban, highly sophisticated and seamless environments with the last 35 percent being completely untouched lush forest, crystal clear lakes rivers and ponds with several ranges of snow capped mountains. We recognize 3 seasons the first is Sopead which means Cold. Sopead are filled with cool days but frigid nights. Snow is very common at this time of year and street heaters which are built in the streets are normally activated which gives the roads a reddish yellowish hue. The next season is known as Rareat, which means warm. This is our warm season and it brings a lot of activity to Atropia. The weather is warm with cool breezes and brings tourist from all across the planet. Most times are spent outside the home building and doing various things outdoors at the rim of each city. Then finally we have Noe e Rareat, which means The end of warmth. This is when the weather starts to become cool and the season of warmth is beginning to end and the dreaded sopead begins. Our cities are neatly organized streets that are 3 lanes going both ways. The middle lane has rails to allow for metro and rails cars to move non drivers. All cars have the ability for driving or self driving and also the ability to fly with the same manual flight or auto pilot. With flying cars also come the above ground level rails and tubes that are interconnected with building to allow for seamless movement to buildings. Most of our buildings are high rises that come in different shapes or configurations depending on the need of the building. All of them will have businesses restaurants and apartments all in one building. Allowing for everyone and everything that you need being in your immediate vicinity. From above at night, the cities look like hexagon stacking on top of each other with triangles within the hexagons which are roads. Each hexagon has its own airport and metro station on the places on the outskirts of Each hexagon has a executive building at the center. The executive building is larger and taller than all buildings in the city by a long shot. It has the most tubes and roads leading to it and has a rectangular shape. The second largest building in every city is the Education building, which is the where training for jobs and higher education is located, it also houses the location for research and design. Then finally near the very edge of town located is the ADF Local Station. It is a series of buildings that are used by the Atropia Defense Force for training, and housing of soldiers.

SECTION III: ESSAY
Atropia values education and believes the earliest that we can get a child into the education system is better for us all. After children receive their first enhancement they are linked with their home system called MAC. This system teaches them all their basic education requirements. Most of all, MAC will help improve their Topa, which is the language of Atropia. After they finish these improvements, they are given another enhancement which grants them the ability to learn other languages with ease. At this point, they can learn several languages at a small span of time. Nearby local dialects are encouraged but neighboring countries languages are mandatory to learn. This is to help ease of travel and business. Our people welcomes all walks of life and being able to speak a multitude of languages can encourage others to come to our nation. Most young lings use brain signals to speak with MAC or their parents before they actually gain the ability to speak. MAC can usually translate what the young ling is seeking or in need of help for and easily get the information to the parents. This process will last for a year, and then the young ling will start speaking its first words. After this, MAC will begin to educate the young ling and their known words grow from a 1000 to over 10000 within a weeks time. After more education, the young ling will learn more and more and their vocabulary will grow until mastery of Topa. Mastery of Topa takes a year or so with the help of enhancements and then the process starts all over again except with the one of the local dialects.
Millions of our people have been educated and have learned there language with the help of MAC and the enhancements, however 70 years ago Topa was a primitive language and never involved these enhancements. After a earthquake and flood in a nearby country in the 1940s an evacuation was conducted and Atropia accepted a large number of refugees. Some of theses were scientists and engineers that had been working on a way to improve human communication and enhancement. They helped invent MAC and the first enhancement implants. The refugees brought a renaissance and cultural shift in the 1960s and caused a shift from the countryside to city hubs. Topa was originally a language of mostly verbs and subjects simply due to our primarily rural lifestyle but then our language quickly grew to what it was today due to the mass education of our populace and the construction of our massive cities in the 1980s and 90s. This shift created a more sophisticated society that values education and the advancement of technology and further integrating tech into our life.
Topa is a language that was originally really straight forward and to the point. After the enhancements were added it brought a change to the language. The enhancements come with a brain chip that connect all family members and people that are invited to your network. It works like a phone and allows you to connect to each other no matter where you're at. Most nonverbal communication is carried out through this network and has different types of signals you could send for different types of feelings or emotions. However, when in direct conversation most physical contact is avoided unless for affection or for a greeting/farewell. A simple hand touch is for greetings and for a goodbye. The signs of affection is touching foreheads, and it has been used for all relationships. Eye contact is required for when you're talking to someone and a hand touch is done as a sign of respect. However, personal space is very important in Atropia so it shows that you are paying attention and it allows the chips to connect and register that person in your database for seamless nonverbal communication and and outside the initial hand touch, contact is frowned upon due to the independent nature of Atropians . Most of the young generation of Atropians prefer to avoid direct conversation and the older generation has favored a more direct approach with many requesting to remove implants and their connecting chip, and engaging in the classic way of communication. For many elders the holder primitive way of speech is still prevalent but they still greet people with "Loma Soload" which means "This day is good" and they touch hands. This is because of the nature of our language and the huge importance of appreciating the now. A farewell well would also have you receiving a hand touch and a reponse of "Teon", which means "Soon". This is a promise that soon you will be seen again and we will touch hands soon. Meanwhile most young and middle aged adults are stuck in between.
Our culture is very tech driven and we value education to help improve and develop more ideas for technology. For the past thirty years our language has changed as we have became more advanced. We have done so much to educate our people about the world around us and our language has grown to show that. We give a negative stigma to words like overpopulate, or overfeeding, and downgrade, and failure because it would become engrained to the people that these are to not be done and this is harmful to all people. So through this we encourage travel of the world and we encourage more natural means of acquiring food and other of moving around. We need the world and we try to keep it healthy and free of Atropian pollutants. This is also why our buildings and vehicles are powered by the sun or by rechargeable batteries it doesnt leave any pollutants. A famous Atropian saying is "Light is power". Literally, with light we can do so much more. Education is light that informs the world, light powers our buildings and technology lights the path for our people to prosper. "Chips dont play fair" which means that our brain chips can make or break what you can do and they can be the difference between a good job or being at the ground level. Speaking of ground level another saying is "Living in glass trophies" due to the fact that we live in massive glass towers and they all shine from a distance just like trophies. " Knowledge is the best defense" which is a saying for our people and how if we know whats going on or whats coming we can act accordingly and finally " The Watch of Tech" represnts how time is always going forward, so technology will always be going forward.
This project was unlike anything I have ever done before in my time in college. I thought this was going to be an easy project but it turned out to be very thought provoking. The fact that I had to create my own alphabet and my own rules on how to use it was something I thought was going to be hard. With that in mind the language played into how the culture had to be. The people I created value technology education and the earth which is something that the language had to reflect. I know that us as Americans, we value technology but we don't value education and that's why the earth is the way it is, and it can be seen in how we talk and how we behave. As of late our language has double and for the most part is a result of the young lings creating new slang words. Young lings have started created different words and been a huge reason for a new cultural shift that is currently happening. For example, the initial enhancement was originally called "Atropian Telomadece Soomactoba" which in English stands for Atropian Communication Enhancements V1. The young lings have started calling it "Alegotama" which stands for kick starter in English. The new enhancements that improves physical performance are called "Yolamar Remarela - Telomadece Soomactoba" which in English stands for "Muscular Accelerate - Communication Enhancement has been called "Neola" which is named after a pre-enhancement era athlete. The young lings have also started using their brain chip for connectivity and communication across the net. With these they have started using visual clips to show what everyone what it is they are doing and sending small alerts straight to the recipients heads up display. The system was originally called the " Rectoma Erad Tomaron Meageo" which in English stands for "Visual Display Instant Message", however the young lings have started calling this system "Itela-loma" Which stands for click and send. Since we are a very technologically advanced and dependent people we prefer to engage in a vast range of activities. Due to the physical enhancements many prefer to scale the nearby mountains and prefer high altitude marathons. We love sports and Leomado is our favorite. Its a game of three players vs another three players. The objective of the game is to move a round ball across a 50 yard field without it touching the ground. If it does the other team gets the ball. It can be moved by throwing running or kicking. At the 50 yard mark however is a 2x2 hole that requires you to throw or kick the ball in the hole. A throw gives you five point ans a kick gives you ten. This is a game that our people loves and it brings crowds from all around to attend Supreme Leagues Matches. Virtual
reality Electronic games are loved by the most people. It allows you to
use your enhancements to turn your living space to a wide range of
scenarios. It can put you in the middle of an action movie with you
being the star, put you in space or put you back on the front lines with
the ADF. With the help of MAC you can have free roam and enjoy seamless
movement on you house due to the fact that MAC will move furniture and
alter the virtual world so you can avoid walls. MAC could even alter the
gravity in your house to allow you to fall and float depending on your
environment. Finally, the most common form of leisure is boating. When
in season, Atropia has massive lakes that allow for a boating trip that
could last a full day before you get up the other side. The Atopian
Naval Forces maintains the lakes and keeps them clean and safe for
Atropians and the marine life. Atropians are physically active and
enjoy to engage in physical activity however we do enjoy to sit back and
enjoy a game for the day.
Atropians
have a wide range of building that all have different responsibilities
and service. For building types: there are Gemod Building which are skyrises for the government, Tamodalo buildings which are
service building that are ground level, Holoframel buildings which residential building that are
massive building that can house thousands, and finally Tamream which are industrial
building that are the biggest building that tower over most building except for the government skyrises since there is only one in the whole city. These building have become very important to our people due to the fact that our people don't reside in the rural areas anymore and we would like to leave the country side human free by limiting the number of people out there. Therefore we choose to build up instead of building out. Next is the type of vehicles used, the most common is a Deama which a two wheeled vehicle that moves a single occupant and is battery powered which could be consindered a motorcycle. The next is a Ferma, which is a large 3 wheeled vehicle that is similar to a pick up truck but carries the cargo to the front. The Aeloma is the luxury airborne four seated vehicle which is very similar to a full size sedan that allows for quick traversal across the cities.The Gemore is a larger airborne vehicle that is similar to a SUV which is used for transporting up to 8 people. Finally the ADF Gemore which is used for the ADF as a military vehicle and is larger than the standard Gemore and armored and equipped with for the mission. For clothes, there is Rotal which is like a standard a shirt. The Teamo which is for pants, and the Tearo are shorts. The Roamo is a one piece suit that is used in a working environment, then the Ulatamare is underwear. Color is Rad or Red, Vero or Blue, Daol or Black, Ferla or Green, and Gromol or White. Atropians do not have a lot of names for color due to the fact that our cities are mostly urban. For Food, there is the Deram or fruits, Arelda, or Vegetables, Theare or Meats, Reterom or grains, and Yeloma or Dairy. Atropians need a balanced diets and we value it more than anything. Atropia is a very diverse people and have equal opertunites for all. We don't have a word for segregation or discrimination because we value all contribution to our society. The lower class has a more slang centered use of Topa and the upper class is more formal. Women speak in a more proper manner while men use more verbs and tend to stick to the more traditional way of speaking Topa. For example, a traditional way of saying "I am going to the gym today" would be "Going to the Fitness center I will today" That is how Men would say it however women or upper class would say " Going to the Fitness center today I will be doing". Lower class and Atropians who do not use the enhancements may say "Head to gym later I am".
